Bridgeport Village's Fall Openings Arrive in Stages: What's Open Now in Tigard and What Comes Next

"This has been a landmark year for Bridgeport Village," Erika Plummer, vice president of leasing for CenterCal Properties, said in the release that named the center's eight fall tenants on Thursday, Sept. 17. Half of those eight sell furniture and home goods. One of the others is a kitchen retailer built around an in-store cooking school.

Look at that lineup and the center on SW Bridgeport Road starts to look different. Bridgeport has long been where Tigard picks up shoes, glasses or dinner. This fall it adds a cluster of showrooms for furnishing a room and a kitchen that teaches you how to use one. None of it arrives on a single day. The openings started in mid-September and continue through late October, with at least one store still unscheduled.

What September already delivered

The first arrivals were small purchases.

Miss Hannah's Gourmet Popcorn opened first, sometime in early September; no source gives the exact day. The family-run Newberg business started as a kettle corn stand at the Portland Farmers Market in 2001 and now makes more than 25 flavors, according to Tigard Today. The shop is at 7355 SW Bridgeport Rd.

Rothy's, the sustainable footwear brand, opened its first Oregon store at 7239 SW Bridgeport Rd. on Friday, Sept. 18.

On Tuesday morning, Sept. 22, Mikiko Mochi Donuts opened at 7319 SW Bridgeport Rd. The gluten-free, vegan bakery already had shops in Portland and Beaverton and at Portland International Airport, so the Bridgeport storefront brings a familiar name closer to Tigard.

Those three continue the pattern of the year's earlier additions. Baby gear retailer Nuna, cowboy boot brand Tecovas and eyewear brand Warby Parker all arrived before the fall group. Fogo de Chão, the Brazilian steakhouse at 17015 SW 72nd Ave., opened Feb. 9, 2026. That was the year's biggest dining addition before the home stores started showing up.

Then the furniture arrived

The last week of September changed what kind of trip Bridgeport offers. Tigard Today reported that Herman Miller and Design Within Reach would open together on Friday, Sept. 25. The center now lists both as open. City Home follows next week. With all three, a large part of the fall lineup is about furnishing a home.

Store Address Status as of Oct. 2
Herman Miller 7475 SW Bridgeport Rd. Open
Design Within Reach 7479 SW Bridgeport Rd. Open
City Home 7293 SW Bridgeport Rd. Grand opening Oct. 8
Sur La Table 7363 SW Bridgeport Rd. Soft opening Oct. 14

Herman Miller is the century-old furniture maker now owned by MillerKnoll. Its showroom sits two doors down the address range from Design Within Reach.

City Home is the local name in the group. It's a woman-owned Oregon furniture and decor retailer, and it already has showrooms in Portland, Bend, Lake Oswego, Cedar Hills and Vancouver, Wash. The first reports gave Oct. 1 as its opening day. The company's own page now advertises a grand opening on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 7293 SW Bridgeport Rd. It also offers SMS sign-ups for a VIP-only event. If you saw the earlier date and found the doors closed this week, the date moved. The store didn't skip Tigard.

The kitchen that opens in three phases

Sur La Table is the most carefully staged opening of the season, and it's the one that turns the furniture cluster into a reason to keep coming back. A sofa is a one-time purchase. A cooking class gives you a reason to return in November.

According to Kristin Flor Perret, Sur La Table's head of marketing, the store will roll out in three steps, as reported by WhatNow:

  1. Soft opening on Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 14 and 15
  2. Culinary Center opening on Wednesday, Oct. 21
  3. Grand opening celebration on Saturday, Oct. 24

Perret said the phases let the company get every part of the store ready, from the retail floor to the cooking classes, before opening fully. The brand had stores in Oregon before, and she called a return to the state a long-standing priority. "We'll be hosting cooking classes and events from day one, so come say hello and get hands-on in the kitchen with us," she said.

Classes at the Tigard store are already open for booking. Sur La Table lists Date Night: French Countryside Evening on Friday, Oct. 23, and Date Night: An Evening in Thailand on Saturday, Oct. 24, the same day as the grand opening. The November listings include a Four-Course Tuscan Dinner on Nov. 2. The booking pages still label the location "Opening Late Fall," which is a little behind the October schedule the company gave WhatNow. Check the class page the week before you go.

Addresses vary between sources. The center's own tenant page puts Sur La Table at 7363 SW Bridgeport Rd., while some coverage used 7301, the general address several reports gave for the new stores. For finding a specific storefront, the center's own store pages are the better guide.

October around the openings

The new stores open during an already busy month at the center. Here is the full sequence from today forward, with store openings and center events together:

  1. Oct. 1–31: Regal's "31 Screams on Screen" runs all month
  2. Oct. 3–4: LEGO Store anniversary celebration, this weekend
  3. Oct. 8: City Home grand opening
  4. Oct. 14–15: Sur La Table soft opening
  5. Oct. 15–31: Mike Bennett Studios Spooktacular Scavenger Hunt
  6. Oct. 21: Sur La Table Culinary Center opens
  7. Oct. 24: Sur La Table grand opening

The scavenger hunt starts the day after Sur La Table's soft opening and runs past the grand opening. That makes the second half of October the busiest stretch on the calendar. Regular hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. So a Sunday visit for a class plus shopping gets a shorter window.

What isn't scheduled yet

FP Movement, the activewear spinoff of Free People, is the last of the eight still listed only as "Opening Fall 2026." Its storefront is at 7283 SW Bridgeport Rd. Its only other Oregon store is in Bend's Old Mill District, so once it opens, Tigard will have the brand's only location in the Portland area.

J.Jill is also on the move, within the center. Bridgeport lists the retailer's new storefront as under construction and sends shoppers to its existing location near Sephora in the meantime.

The holiday calendar is only partly posted. Sounds of the Season, which invites local school choirs to perform, is listed for Nov. 23 through Dec. 24. As of Oct. 2, the center's events page had no 2026 dates for a tree lighting or a Santa arrival, and the hours page had no holiday schedule.

Outside the center, one more Tigard food opening is in the pipeline, though it's further off. Chick-fil-A plans a restaurant at 10850 SW Gaarde St., at Pacific Highway and Gaarde. The chain is aiming for early 2027, and as of early September permits were still under review and construction hadn't started.

If walking through the new showrooms on Bridgeport Road has you rethinking how your current home works, or wondering what an update might be worth before a sale, The Portera Group is glad to talk through it with Tigard numbers in hand. Schedule a Strategy Session and we'll help you decide which projects are worth taking on before you buy the furniture.
